Lily Allen pregnant with first baby
Singer Lily Allen is pregnant with her first child, it has been confirmed.
The 22-year-old is "thrilled" to be expecting a baby with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons, 37.
A spokesman for Allen said: "I am pleased to confirm that Lily Allen and her boyfriend, Ed Simons, are expecting their first child.
"However, as the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy, as the health of Lily and their child is their paramount concern.

As you see Manuela Arcuri is one of typically beautiful Italian girls, known for starring in an Italian TV series “Carabinieri”.
Manuela Arcuri was born in Anagni, not too far from Rome, and started as a model before becoming an actress and one of Italy's favourite calendar women.
She's perhaps the most typical of Italy's sexy women - what with the television appearances, a footballer as an ex-boyfriend and plenty of work as a lingerie model! Manuela is a real beauty. Perhaps, a few more years at an acting school would have done the trick.

Ive just bought this t-shirt from Threadless - Flowers in the Attic. Its running out of stock though as they are having a $10 sale. This shirt seems totally emo. I bought several other shirts while waiting for this one to be reprinted (it was so popular, I knew it would be eventually). Fortunately it only took two weeks before the magic reprinting notice! I'm wearing it now. One of those designs that just sticks in your mind forever. I love it so much. Visit Threadless for a bunch more wonderful tees.

EMO T-Shirts
Emo, which is a shortcut for “emotional,” is an important fashion trend nowadays. Emo clothing is rooted in other fashion styles, such as goth and punk. Emo fashion is associated with dark tight-fitted clothes, with occasionally flashy accessories.
Emo t-shirts are important pieces in the closet of any emo. Emo t-shirts can be very symbolic and expressive of the person’s feelings and interests. If you want to dress like an emo, here are the basic characteristics of an emo t-shirt that you need to know.
- Emo t-shirts are typically dark colored t-shirts. A plain black t-shirt is a favorite among emos.
- If you are not into wearing plain dark-colored t-shirts, striped or checkered t-shirts will also do.
- Dark colored t-shirts mixed with other colors, such as neon, can also be worn.
- Typical designs for emo t-shirts include various ghoulish symbols, such as a skull or a broken heart.
- Emo t-shirts may also have logos of emo bands, such as Dashboard Confessional and Hawthorne Heights, printed on them.
- Emo t-shirts are usually slim-fitted.
Emo t-shirts are best worn with pencil-tight jeans, studded belts and oversized belt buckles, and a pair of Vans or Converse shoes. Also consider getting a pair of horn-rimmed glasses and a black messenger bag. To complete the emo look, it is advisable to get an emo haircut and put on some simple black eye make-up, such as eyeliner or eye shadow. These tips apply for both guys and girls.
Although these are the clothes commonly worn by emos, you should not be limited to these. Remember that being emo calls for a sense of creativity, individuality and non-conformity. Your clothes say a lot about who you are and what you are feeling at the moment. Be true to yourself! Be emo!

She is arguably the most beautiful star of French television and, until a few weeks ago, was one half of a hugely glamorous power couple presenting cutting-edge documentaries and heavyweight political interviews.
But now, Laurence Ferrari has announced her divorce from Thomas Hugues, her journalist husband of 14 years, amid rumours that she has formed a 'close and loving relationship' with France's president Nicolas Sarkozy.
The pair have been spotted enjoying candlelit meals, and Miss Ferrari, 41, is a frequent visitor to the Elysee Palace,Mr Sarkozy's official residence in Paris.
The blonde enjoyed a one-on-one live interview with Mr Sarkozy, 52, in March – when he was running for the presidency before his electoral triumph in May – and the "incredible chemistry between the two" was apparent to many TV observers.

How Do I Make My Curly Hair look Emo?
For those who have curly hair and want to look emo, here are some tips that would somehow help you achieve the emo look. These are all taken from the comment section. Thanks to all who have taken time to write these mini guides.
Oh, wow.
This could be a lot of work, but if you are willing to be dedicated to it, then it would look awesome.
Emo guys are so hot!
Alright, first off..
HOT TOPIC IS YOUR FRIEND!
I know some people are scared of it, but there is nothing wrong with the people there.
Just go. Almost every single thing in that place will make you look emo.
You don't necessarily have to wear skinny jeans. Regular jeans are ok too, as long as they are a dark color.
Ok, now for your hair.
You don't really have to dye it if you don't want because your hair is pretty dark as it is.
But you will need a straightener.. hate to say that but it's true.
Or you could get it chemically straightened, but that is like really expensive.
You might want to grow your hair out a bit, but it's not required, because emo is all about being yourself.
[Cough, cough.]
But you will need to have it straight.
Go to a stylist, or get a friend to cut it for you. You will need side bangs. Lots and lots of side bangs. And make sure they cover at least one eye.
One side of your bangs needs to be longer than the other side.
Cut the back part on top of your head kind of short and spike it up.
The best type of gel is Got-2-B-Glued.
Or, if you don't like that, you could try a faux-hawk. They are pretty cool.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. SHOES!
Oh, how I love shoes.
You will need Vans slip-ons or Converse. Or some black skate shoes like Etnies or Adios.
And the best type of hoodie for an emo guy is either a plain black one, or a band hoodie, or one that is a zip-up with, like, black and grey wide horizontal stripes.
[Like one Pete Wentz would wear.]
Here's the part where I would tell you to try to be yourself, but it's a little too late for that now.
Hahahahaha.
Well good luck, I think it will look great!
I wanna know how it comes out.
First off all,
u have to straighten it.. its a must.
if u cant dye your hair, and u've straightened it, buy some moisturizing spray so it looks like your hair it makes your hair dark and messy. style it so it comes across your forehead at an angle then use hairspray to lock it in place.
after that, go to your hair dresser and ask him to layer the back and think it out and little but not take any length away from it.
then buy your self some hair clayy and go wild. pull your hair away from your head and then sort of twist it with your fingers and srunch it up. it gives it a reli messy spikey look. then hold that in place with hair spray. u dont have to spike it. if you dont comb it down constantly.
Becuase your hair is quite short go buy some reli huge womens sun glasses which will cover your eyes and try to pull you hair over your glasses.
Next if you cant buy any good emo-ish shirts go to like a childrens store and buy the tightest and smallest spiderman or transformer shirt u can fit into. dont worry if its a bit short and your belly is showing it just adds to the 'i'm not afraid to show my self and i dont care what u think look'
then buy some reli tight jeans and either vans old school skate shoes or slip-ons with a reli funky or childish design. if u cant the converse will have to do. Start listening to quality music like faber drive and as i lay dying ,which reli express how u feel then buy your self the bigeest head phones u can afford and have them on all the time it stops people from talking to you, and is reli anti social. Then find a tight zip up hoodie that is black, dark purple or pink. Wear your studded belt side ways also if u've got 2 put the other one on aswell.By: Richard_died-inyourarms
The best way for me to get the emo look is to get a hair straightner and some straightening gel. If you have money to throw away, look into japanese hair straightening. Make sure to get heat protecting spray as to not fry the hair. Then for me I have to straighten twice a day so it falls flat and doesnt poof on me. Then apply palmade or clay. I should also add my hair is extremely thick so I had to get it thinned a bit as to once again so it wouldnt poof on me. My picture on thier is a month or 2 old. Ill get a new one soon.By: Robdoghihi
Hey that dude with curly hair, what you should do instead of frying your hair with the irons, go to the hair salon and get a CHEMICAL straightner on it. Then you will have straight hair full stop. It's like a perm, except they make it straight instead of curly. Styling wise, I've seen your myspace. Dude it's a mess. Get it cut. You have a fairly long face, so it's best to keep your hair long all around. Get it cut just above the eyes and stop the spiking at the back. Keep it flat. It won't look like a mess. That's for the long hair look. Looking at your other pictures with your short hair, personally i think you look much better with short back and sides :Panonymous
Personally I don't think people with curly hair should bother with the emo style. If you have curly hair, you're lucky, i love the ringlets lol. Emo guys, if you want emo hair just give it about half a year to grow and go and see your hairstylest mate. If you're afraid of your hairdresser like me and cut your own hair. Here is how.
You need some basic tools first.
Scissors. Not ones you cut paper with PROPER scissors.
A Sharp Object. Maybe a blade. Prefrably a rasor, small one.
Comb.
Okay the razor will be used to cut your sharp pointy fringe at an angle. Start from the left or right however you want to do it and about half way down your forehead. Cut it whatever angle you want.
Used the scissors to just trim down the sides of your hair and the top otherwise you will end up with the thickest, gayest and afrolikish hair. Not too short. Juut trimmed. Same with the back.
Comb it through and check your results. But note: USE A MIRROR and use two mirrors to cut the back of your hair.By: The guy that is a master at cutting emo hair

The Ins And Outs Of Beyonce's Relationships by Shlomo Tommer
Beyoncé has deep, compelling love feelings that seem irresistible and often irrational. Her love relationships are very passionate and intense, and Knowles experiences both agony and ecstasy in love. Beyoncé Knowles is always changed in a deep, fundamental way by her love experiences, though this may come about through painful and difficult confrontations or separations. It is important for Beyoncé Knowles to learn to forgive and let go, as well as to express her feelings openly and directly, rather than hiding or repressing them.
She is not content with superficial appearances and is always probing beneath the surface of things for hidden motives. Beyoncé Knowles has a great deal of emotional depth. Beyoncé has an unusual sense of humor and enjoys acting a little bit crazy or outlandish sometimes. Knowles craves excitement and emotional freedom and she likes to break the rules and take risks. GUIDE: HOW TO GET AN EMO HAIR
Emo hairstyles are similar to the hairstyles of music artists in the 1980s and the punk hairstyles in the past decade. Commonly, emo hairstyles include straight black hair with long bangs or fringes styled to one side, covering part of the face and eyes. However, the emo hairstyle is not limited to this anymore; styles have evolved so that anybody who wants to have an emo hairstyle can get one.
CHECK THE SHAPE OF YOUR FACE
The shape of your face is important when choosing a specific emo hairstyle. For people who have longer faces, a longer emo haircut would fit. For those with rounder faces, long fringes and short hair at the back would look best.
FIND A PICTURE
Now that you know what kind of emo hairstyle would look good with the face of your shape, the next thing to do is find a picture with the kind of emo hair you want. There are numerous sources of emo hairstyles from the Internet, especially musicians. Bring this along when you go to your hairdresser, and have your stylist cut your hair the same way.
GET YOUR HAIR CUT
Before you can get an emo haircut, you need to grow your hair a little first. This allows your stylist to cut in the emo style into your hair. Ask your stylist to cut the sides and the back of your hair in layers. The bangs should be made choppy. Although emo bangs usually have one side longer than the other, some emo styles can also have bangs cut straight across, covering the forehead. The hair at the crown should also be cut short, keeping it spiky with hair products.
HAVE YOUR HAIR COLORED
Have your entire hair dyed black or dark brown. If you want to add highlights, you can do so in a variety of colors. Emo hairstyles tend to use unusual hues in order to create a glaring contrast to the black hair – white, blue and even bright pink, for the more outrageous, are typically used. Highlights are usually added under the bangs and at the nape.
STYLE YOUR HAIR
Having emo hair is high maintenance. Styling emo hair typically involves the use of a lot of hair products. You can choose to either straighten your hair with a hair iron or create a messy, unruly look. For those with curly hair, try straightening even just the front part of your hair. When ironing your hair, remember to do so in small sections so that you go through all the parts. If you are a guy, you can also spike up the back of your hair, while keeping the front pat down. You can also use funky accessories and clips to style your hair.
CONCLUSION
Getting an emo haircut is an important part of living the emo lifestyle. Although these are simple guides on how to get a basic emo haircut, it is important to incorporate your personal ideas to create your own one-of-a-kind emo hairstyle. Try it!

Another Emoboy with a Heart
Got this tru email. Another hot emoboy with a really nice emo hair. His name is Charles Brindle. Visit his myspace profile and be inspired.. He also cut his own hair and do the same for his friends.. talented..
I'm a fairly extroverted person who enjoys reading, hanging out, poetry, artwork, and computers. I spend a lot of time working on artwork and reading particularly. You'll find me in coffee shops most of the time, probably working on one of these things. I absolutely love coffee and without it I probably wouldn't get as much done as I do. Starbuck's frapicinos rule 2, along with BK Joes, and Sheri's coffee. Helps to curve my ADD anyway (at least that’s what I keep telling myself.)
Right now I'm running a small business and trying to make my way through college. Life for me is usually crazy but I've been living in a mad world so long I find it more enjoyable then a boring life. Better to live your life as an adventure then not live it at all. I also really like to help people out however I can. I personally think that the greatest way to spend your time is to be spending it helping others.
If you feel like you ever need someone to talk to, send me a message and I'll do my best to get back to you. The time I spend here is not to judge people, just here to help them out as best as I can.
I've got a lot of problems and I'm far from perfect. Actually I'd say I'm a pretty screwed up person and I'm trying to rebuild my life from the ashes of other people’s mistakes. But God is there to help me along the way, and I believe I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today without Him. If you don't believe in God or share this view that’s okay. I think people should have the choice to believe in what they want (shouldn't everybody have the right to that?)

So You Want an Emo Hairstyle?
A wise choice of haircut- I think it'll look fabulous!
Okay, firstly let's focus on your face shape.
It you have a longer face, and a squared jaw, then you'd suit the hair being as long as it is in those pictures. However, if you have more of a round face then I suggest going slightly shorter at the back to counter-balance the long fringe. For example, this pic.
Find out what hairdressers you will be using (I use Toni And Guy as they do 'emo/scene' styles really well) and go and talk to one of the hairdressers that'll cut your hair for you. Explain to them what they think is best for you hair, whether the style will suit you etc. Print off the photographs and show them. Doing this will let your hairdresser know exactly what you want it like- but do bear in mind, these hairstyles are high maintenance and it'll cost a fortune on hair products.
Now, for the descriptive part.
You'll need your hair reasonably long before you get your hair cut, so you can have the shape 'cut in'. From the pictures, your hairstylist will be able to get a good idea of what they'll be doing. A sweeping, choppy fringe across one side is important. Remember to tell them to keep one side longer and shorter as you go across, so you get that 'flicked' look. Keep it longer along the sides and at the back, razoring layers into it. Then, at the crown of the head, the hair should be cut really short so it can be 'spiked up' with wax or gel.
Have a go with some colour if you're feeling brave- white blonde highlights, a creamy blue or perhaps even pink or orange if you're really going for it. Get them sliced in under your sweeping fringe and at the nape of your neck. There are a few links at the end of my post which suggest some good colours which would work well with that haircut. Take a look.
If you need any styling tips after you get your hair cut, send a message to Demixxdinosaur from Yahoo Anwser and she'd love to help you guys. His boyfriend has exactly the same haircut and she does his hair often and watch him style it all of the time.

This enables the straightners to seal the moisture and luster of the hair. Furthermore, lightweight, high-strength composite materials are used to make the body of the product. Gone are the times, when your hair straightner had a long heat-time. With SEDU, within 25 seconds you get the desired heat. This is because unlike other ceramic irons available in the market, SEDU does not use a conventional coil.

Legoshire Hot Pots - He's Turned Emo
Wicked Stuff! Totally amazing. Watch this vid!
Lyrics...
Now my mate Geoff
I've known him for years
He loves his Madonna and his Britney Spears
Then one day I noticed a change
He went all moody and he didn't look the same
His eyes looked black
I said have you got a shiner?
When I looked closer he were wearing eyeliner
He'd straightened his hair
And combed it over his eyes
And all at once I realised
Oh no!
He's turned Emo
He's dressing like a Goth
and he's let himself go
He used to be a listening to Simply Red
Now he's listening to Fall Out Boy instead!
Well he weren't at the Labour Club for our regular line dance
He just stayed at home and listened to My Chemical Romance
I said you're not an Emo let's forget this misdemeanor
Come with me and see Cliff Richard at the MEN Arena
He said
'I'm feeling all emotional, I don't know why?'
I said
It's those tight trousers that are making you cry
Come and have a pint of mild and you'll feel fine
And listen to Abba not Bullet For My Valentine
Well I saw him yesterday when I were walking to the station
I could tell from a distance he were wearing foundation
He's painted his finger nails black, it looks quite poor
Looks like he's caught his fingers in a car door
He were wearing a man-bag that say's Jimmy Eats World
I said they wants to be eating chippy tea
You great big bloomin' girl!
He said
'I just want my emotions to be exposed'
Oh emotions thas from Lancashire
Thas not got none of those

Difference between scene kids and emo kids?
There is a recurring conversation at school, at home and here on the net over the differences between these various people. How can you tell the difference between the two? I have some friends that consider themselves scene kids. They are really nice people. The idea of being "scene" is usually knowing a lot about the local bands/music scene. "Emo" is as always "Emotional" were as scene kids, I believe is more of the style and looking like an emo without the personality of it all. People who only follow the fashion and style, while emo kids follow the fashion, the style and the lifestyle.

Jennifer Aniston Sedu Hair Styles Are One Of The Most Popular Looks Of This Century
Jennifer made her look famous on the tv show ‘Friends’ but now her hairstyle is as popular as the show and her style is copied by girls everywhere. There is a lot that you should know about Jennifer Aniston Sedu hair styles, and the most important of all perhaps is the fact that Jennifer Aniston Sedu hair styles are easily one of the most popular types of hair styles of all, and so you definitely will want to consider getting it or one like it for yourself.
What are Jennifer Aniston Sedu Hair Styles?
There are actually many different variations to this hairstyle, and so really, regardless of your face shape, skin color or hair color, you should be able to find a specific type of this hairstyle that will look great on you. Just take your time and remember that you have all the time in the world and so you should really have patience so that in the end you can love your hair rather than regret getting what you did done to it.
Basically Jennifer Aniston Sedu hair styles are hairstyles that are layered and have highlights in them, and if you are interested in Jennifer Aniston Sedu hair styles for yourself, then you are definitely going to want to make sure that you go to your hairstylist and speak to them about this, so that they can tell you whether or not they think the style would look good on you, as well as fit you in for an appointment if you decide to go with it.
Then on the other hand if you are more looking for a big change then you can basically go as short as you want to, after all it is only hair and it will grow back but for some people hair is very sentimental, and so if you are one of these people then obviously you are going to want to be positively sure about your decision of cutting your hair all off before you go through with it so that you will not end up being greatly disappointed in the end.
After all you want to make sure of several different things, for one you want to make sure that you are going to be able to do things that you normally do with it, and so for instance if you like to put your hair up, then you are going to want to make sure that you keep it long enough that you will still be able to do so. With regards to coloring by adding highlights, try and keep to your natural hair color as possible and make your style look as sunkissed as possible by adding subtle lighter tones.

Several serious mistakes that could ruin your hair
By: Mary Anne Lionel
Well, all that I learned after I have done the relaxing. Now I know that my stylist made several serious mistakes that ruined my hair and made me cut it really short because of a really great amount of split ends and broken hairs.
Mistake 1: Concentration of relaxing solution
I have fine hair, but as it is really thick it is hard to define the texture and diameter of the separate hair by eye. The girl that was doing my hair paid no attention to the fineness of my hair and applied rather strong solution. As a result, my hair looked over processed and dead in the end.
The good stylist always should study the hair type closely, and define the appropriate concentration of the relaxing solution in order not to harm the hair.
Mistake 2: Time of processing
When the lotion is applied, you hair is left to “cook”. It is important that the time is defined carefully or your hair will suffer great shock and may even dissolve!
For my hair the time was defined badly. After the solution was rinsed out, I saw that my hair was sticking lifelessly in all directions like a hip of hay. I started to think that something was wrong. My sedu hairstyle was gradually fading. I saw it flying away and waving me sorrowfully.
Mistake 3: Incomplete rinsing
Careful and thorough rinsing is particularly important in relaxing. It ensures that you hair suffers no longer and starts recovering from the chemical treatment.
During my relaxing rinsing took approximately 5-7 minutes. It may look enough, but I usually rinse out the shampoo for 10 minutes at least!
So, my hair looked more and more dreadful, and I was thinking longingly about wavy times of my hair. I spent half an hour on flat ironing every day, but at least the hair looked shiny and smooth, but not like great pile of dead strands.
At the long last, when I left the salon looking awful and feeling completely frustrated, I decided that in no way I will do two things again: go to this salon and make a chemical straightening.
After consulting with the stylist in the other salon later that week, I cut my hair short, bought new shampoo and set for chemically treated hair, and ordered sedu flat iron. I’ve decided that if I want to have sedu hairstyle, I should stick to the product that was first to invent it.
Now two months have passed since that terrible experience. My hair has almost recovered and grows healthy and wavy again. I spend nearly an hour for hair care procedures every day, but it’s really worth the effort. At the long last I have sleek and smooth sedu hairstyle, and I pay no attention that it is short.

Emo: A Mosh Pit Of Sound
Sadly, a lot of people have very limited opinions (and ideas) about emotional hardcore music, or emo music. Some would even assume that for as long as the lyrics aren't clear and the lead vocalist is singing on hyper drive, then it must be emo music. What most of you didn't know is that emo developed from music recorded on vinyl. It can be considered Indie, sure, but it most probably emerged into being before they even had a name for it. With its roots in hardcore punk, emo music is bringing the core of punk music into a whole different level. With people buying more CDs, downloading stuff off the net, and investing in music hardware or software like there was no tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised if emo music became another solid category all on its own, like pop rock or country.
You can't possibly understand emo music without taking the time to ponder on its evolution. Just like with other genres, emo has no clear-cut definition. Some would even call it a lyrical and sonic revolution. You hear these artists and bands play some kind of a distraught yet endearing sound you've never quite heard before and you find yourself actually liking it -- it's the most successful 21st century snake charmer routine to date.
Even though emo started in the 80's, the most popular emo music only came out and boomed in the 90's until the present. What started out as a fast, loud, hard, intense, and one-tracked version of punk (emocore) lead to a varied post-indie rock that more people seemed to relate better to. Bands like Jimmy Eat World started to perform across the country, had their five minutes of fame on MTV or a far-reaching alternative radio show, appeared on next-generation movie soundtracks, and before anyone knew what hit them, the mosh pit of sound was reborn.
One can expect that the appeal of emo music would vary, since people have particularly sundry tastes. The emo music scene was almost completely divided, leading to variations that only die-hard emo fans can fully grasp. On one hand, you have the heavy, faster-than-fast, noise-bouncing-off-the-walls variety which blended elements of apocalyptic chaos and neurotic grind-core with nose-bleeding screams. These bands would include One Eyed God Prophecy, Living War Room, To Dream Of Autumn, and Reversal Of Man. On another part of the pie graph, you have experimental analog synths and new wave or goth. Bands like Crimson Curse, Slaves, VSS, and Das Audience did a lot of post-emo style-rock in their time. It is also believed that this lead to the birth of an almost exclusively Californian indie sound that brought about the unique styles of bands like The White Stripes, The Hives, The Strokes, and The Faint, mixing a little 60's and 70's rock whenever they can.
To date, there is a very good collection of awesome emo music albums that everyone should listen to at least once in their lives. The self-titled LP or CD from Embrace, End On End by Rites of Spring, Lyburnum Wit's End Liberation Fly by Moss Icon, Plays Pretty For Baby by Nation of Ulysses, and the self-titled EP or CD from Heroin are only some of the first rocking emo records released.

Faux Hawk
A toned-down version of the famous mohawk haircut popularized by David Beckham. Instead of shaving the side of your head, you just glue up the middle part or make the central strip of hair stand up so that it is in the style of the mohawk. The faux hawk resembles the mohawk when styled but can also, if desired, appear to be a conventional emo hairstyle.

Personalized Hoodies of Pete Wentz, where to buy?
Does anyone know what brand of hoodies does Pete Wentz wear? Or does he go for customized hoodies from his Clandestine clothing line? I've been searching online but cant seem to find that much info.
The hoodies used to be sold at Urban Outfitters, but no longer is. The hoodie that is almost the exact same is being sold at an H&M store. I have one hoodie and I got it from their men's department. Too bad H&M doesn't have an online store. I want to add more hoodies to my collection.
I dig his hoodies and the guys low rise jeans he wears. I also want to have those guy clothing but I dont know where to buy. If any emo there knows, your comment is highly appreciated.
So far, only got this information:
http://www.clandestineindustries.com/ - You cant buy the hoodies online. Only listings of their stores.
http://www.bbcicecream.com/ - The clothing line of Pharrell Williams (Neptunes), and Nigo from Bathing APE. They cost around $300 - too expensive but feel great.

Emo Music
Emo music is the boat that brought the term “emo” down the river. Emo music is a type of hardcore punk music. They type of music has slowly evolved over the years. This typic of music is very melodramatic and filled with lyrics of a depressing state. Emo music is said to have began with DC bands like Embrace and Rites of Spring but is in not limited to them, in 1985. Basically, the sound involved a slower and emotional (therefore the name "emo") version of hardcore music. The vocals are generally sung in a whiny sounding voice, or with screams that leave the lyrics indistinguishable.
Emo music today has created many opposite and contradicting combinations that all proclaim to be emo, rendering it somewhat useless. Here are some examples: there's political, scream-and-flail-on-the-floor, emo like Frail, Swing Kids, Impetus Inter, and a slew of San Diego based bands; there's the really slow, discordant, artsy emo like Cap'n Jazz, Joan d'Arc, Evergreen, etc.; then we have the more popular melody/pop-oriented bands like Texas is the Reason, Sensefield, Mineral, Promise Ring, Split Lip (now Chamberlain), etc.; and last but not least we have the slow, stop-and-go, melody-thrash alternating groups like Amber Inn, Still Life, and others I can't think of right now.

Emo Band: Cute is What We Aim For
The band Cute is What We Aim For was created in Buffalo, NY in 2005. This pop rock band began with four members but currently has three. The members include Shaant Hacikyan on vocals, Jeff Czum on guitar and piano, and Tom Falcone on drums. When the original members decided to take Cute Is What We Aim For to a new level, each had a difficult parting of ways with their other bands. The band got out to a rough start, having negative vibes from their other bands and even accusations of plagiarism. They also had issues with their debut album, The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch, when the founder of Absolutepunk.net charged them with using auto pitch/tone correcting software. Nevertheless, the release of their debut album in 2006 debuted at number 75 on the Billboard 200.

Blue Emo Hair
by Inyo
For a portion of the summer, I had the opportunity to dye my hair blue. Having blue hair is an enjoyable experience I'd suggest to anyone, it certainly makes life interesting. It helped get through a summer in a very boring town. But I sure did get a lot of weird comments. They ranged as anything from 'is that natural?' to 'did you spill paint on your hair?' Probably the most common questions I got from old people was 'It's just for the summer right?' or 'does it wash out?' Also common was 'Why?'. (it's something you cant really explain to a redneck in a convenience store in Nevada). Most younger people asked me 'whoa, how'd you get that color?' or 'what type of dye did you use?' When my parents saw it they simply said 'Whoa.. it IS blue'. I guess they didnt believe me.
All kinds of other interesting things happened to me when my hair was blue. When I was in the desert visiting Bodie, someone recognized me who had seen me at Rock Creek over 100 miles away. Having blue hair isnt good if you desire anonymity... don't yell things at people out of cars if you have blue hair. Also, part of my tub is now stained blue. Some idiot smacked me over the head randomly with a beer bottle at a show in San Jose and the beer in my hair turned blue and dribbled down on me, turning most of my shirt blue. Throughout the few months I had blue hair, I had to touch it up a lot. If you want to dye your hair use Special Effects brand.. don't use Manic Panic.
Anyway... if you have a job which will allow it, and you get bored, you can always give it a try. It sure did get a lot of girls to come up and talk to me, which is a good thing. It got me funny looks from middle aged people but who really cares what they think anyway? If you live in the boonies you might get pulled over by a cop or something. Also I literally had some cars almost crash when driving by me... which I thought was pretty funny because where I come from, dyed hair is no big thing. But... I would say that everyone should dye their hair while in college.

Pete Wentz Owns 730 Hoodies
According to the August issue of J-14, America's no. 1 emo boy Pete Wentz owns 730 hoodies.
I have two year' worth of hoodies, wearing a different one every day. A lot of people in the hardcore scene used to wear them. It's also like a comfort blanket. Long after I started wearing them, my manager told me that Bob Dylan would wear hoodies on tour. And when the hoodie was up, you couldn't talk to him. I was like, "That's amazing!"

Emo boy Shaant Hacikyan
What can you say about Shaants' hair? This is the perfect example of a shaggy emo hair that hangs over the side of one's face, covering your desired eye in a side bang type fashion. Shaants' hair is long and partially hide his face, sometimes covering his eyes.
Achieving this is very simple. Just grow your hair long enough and employ a hair gel or a wax to keep your bangs right where you want it. A medium hold gel would be the best option to achieve this hairstyle.

Celebrity hairstyles: pictures for women (XXXIV)

Your So Emo.....
Sure, we have all seen the people with the jet black hair, the extremely small, tight-fitting, shirts, and the kids with the cut-up wrists. But do we know who they are exactly? Most people would generally refer to them as “emo” but, what really is emo?
Emo is a slang term derived from the word “emotional”. Emo is also a term for emotionally-charged punk rock. The word can be used to describe the emotional state of a teenage (usually a depressed state), the person in general, or the emotionally-charged type of music.
More often than not, emo is seen as a degrading term, inferring that the person being called emo is depressed, a whiner, and one who cuts their wrist for the heck of it. Wikipedia describes as a style of fashion or music; or a general state of unhappiness or melancholy (as in "to feel emo”) Those stereotyped of emo are often unhappy, think they are misunderstood, and may have mild paranoia. Emo kids or emo boys are often found to be the rejects of society.
In my experience I have heard people use the word emo to describe a variety of things from clothing to music to a way a person is feeling. Some art nowadays is even being referred to as emo! Emo is a new way of life, a way of living, a way to express yourself through music, art, design, style, life. It is a statement, an expression, it’s emotional.

Sedu vs Solia - Which Is The Best Flat Iron?
by Robin OBrien
Sedu and Solia flat irons are two of the most popular brands. They share many similar features, incorporate the latest technology and are top rated flat irons loved by consumers the world over. But are there any differences? And which is the best flat iron: Sedu or Solia?
Before we compare the Solia flat iron with that of the Sedu flat iron, we'll first list off some of the main features shared by both. Sedu flat irons come with two different plate widths: 1-½ and 1 inch. Solia flat irons come with four different plate widths but its 1-¾ and 1-¼ inch models are its most popular and as these roughly match the plate sizes of the Sedu, so we'll compare these models against Sedu.
Both the Sedu and Solia flat iron come with tourmaline plates. If you're going to buy a flat iron you must buy a model with tourmaline plates. Basically, tourmaline gives off negative ions, which have been shown to lock in moisture into the hair follicle and help to straighten hair without excessive heat damage. Both Sedu and Solia are American-designed flat irons, though both are actually manufactured in the Far East. Both come with 1-year warranties. Both have quick heat-up times of less than 30 seconds.
Both the Sedu and Solia flat iron come with variable settings. However, the Solia just nudges ahead because its heat setting ranges from 140F - 450F, whereas the Sedu flat iron has a slightly narrow range: 240F - 410F.
When it comes to weight the Sedu wins out over the Solia flat iron. The Sedu 1" tourmaline flat iron is 0.5lbs whereas the Solia 1 ¼" tourmaline flat iron weighs in at 1.2lbs. Weight does make a difference because when straightening your hair the flat iron you use will start to feel heavier and heavier.
You may not be too interested in what the flat iron looks like, but f you are, the Solia tourmaline flat iron looks far more stylish that the Sedu. The Solia has a better, more contoured design, than does the Sedu.
The above are minor differences and neither Sedu nor Solia come out on top. However there are two further reasons why the Solia Ceramic Ion Flat iron comes out the clear winner: the Dynamic Alignment System used by Solia flat iron and its price.
The Dynamic Alignment System used in the Ion ceramic plates of a Solia flat iron is self-adjusting, which helps to provide perfect contact between hair and plate. This means that hot spots are avoided that can cause damage to hair. The Dynamic Alignment System also works as a pressure equalizer that helps avoid any specific pressure points during the straightening process, thereby allowing the Solia flat iron to work through the hair smoothly without pulling.
There's no avoiding the price differential between a Solia and Sedu flat iron. A Solia tourmaline flat iron is about three-quarters the cost of its comparable Sedu flat iron. Both the Sedu and Solia flat iron are quality products and are amongst the best flat irons you can buy. But quality flat irons aren't cheap and the consumer wants value for money, so the price difference between the two brands make the Solia Professional Ion Ceramic flat iron a clear winner.

Poisonthehat, aka Electrocuute
This is Poisonthehat. Probably, most of you emo guys would like to have this look. Here is the instruction and the tools you need to achieve this emo hairstyle according to Poisonthehat himself.
In his own words:
"Well, there are a couple of different "emo hair styles" I guess you could say. If you're looking for something like the picture above, then I can pretty much tell you everything I do to my hair, because that's me. I can still help you with whatever you're looking for though, since I've been through a couple of different "emo hair styles". I didn't part my hair in the picture above, but I usually do."
The basics of emo hair:
-A flat iron straightener (a MUST have)
-Black hair dye
-Some sort of hair product, not sure what they're called but I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum
-Cut short in the back to prevent mullet-ness
-Conditioning your hair every night
-Combing your hair after you get out of the shower and whatnot helps
On the color of his hair:
"Yeah it's a blue black color but I don't remember what dye I used. I think it was some of that crap you mix up with the other crap and then you use the cap thingy and all that. If you cut the back short and then straighten your hair with a flat iron I'm pretty sure you could get a haircut close to mine. Oh, and make sure to let the sides grow out."
On Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Serum:
"Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum fixes up ugly "straggling" hair like woah. It's like this oil type stuff, and you put a small dot of it you hand, rub your palms together, and then run your palm through your hair or something like that. I know there are other brands of it out there, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I always use it after straightening my hair because my hair gets all dry looking after I straighten it, and then this stuff fixes it right up.
I recommend you just ask one of your female friends to straighten your hair, or if your mom has a straightener or whatever, just use hers. I'm pretty sure it would end up looking something close to my hair. As for the part, I'm not really sure how I get that. I just use my hand and push my hair to the side and it works. I'm sure you can figure it out.
The moisture shine stuff keeps it from poofing and fix flyaways and makes it look straighter and thinner. Also, I use the straightener every day."
Final words:
"Just grow it out, use flat iron straightener, cut it short in the back, and you can spike the back if you wish. I usually don't but sometime I get bored and will do it. You don't have to dye it black if you don't want, especially if your hair is already naturally black. Yes it could take a couple of months for your hair to grow as long as mine. It's a long process but if that's what you want then it'll be worth it."
